Short for Redundant Array of Independent (or Inexpensive) Disks, a RAID is a system of using multiple hard drives for sharing or replicating data among the drives.

Some RAID types:

  • RAID 0
  • RAID 1
  • RAID 2
  • RAID 3
  • RAID 4
  • RAID 5
  • RAID 6
  • RAID 10
  • RAID 50
  • RAID 0+1
